Claudio’s Italian bar and restaurant boasts an enviable prime location in Windsor. Peascod Street is home to a number of fashionable and stylish boutiques, bars and restaurants ensuring it has a vibrant, buzzing atmosphere. As soon as you enter the restaurant you are aware of a sense of informal elegance, and the warm plum and gold tones, stylish dark furniture and candlelit tables all add to the feeling of glamour.

When you arrive at your table you will be greeted by a diverse wine list, with prices ranging from £9.95 up to £38.95, there is guaranteed to be something to suit every palate. As well as wines, a superb range of cocktails is also available, from the traditional Cosmopolitan to the lethal sounding Captain Jack Sparrow, you will be spoilt for choice.

The new menu contains a range of delicious Italian-inspired and modern European dishes as well as mouth-watering daily specials. Seafood lovers could go for the outstanding seared scallops with wilted spinach and a spicy fig dressing or the highly recommended fresh grilled sea bass with mango and papaya salsa. Grilled pork chops with Savoy cabbage and a pork and pineapple chutney are sure to satisfy. I followed my delicate smoked haddock fish cakes with the paprika beef fillet with mustard-scented mash and butterbean casserole. A range of rich and sumptuous desserts, as befits such a decadent place, provides a filling and indulgent close to your meal.

If you are a fan of live music Claudio’s is the place to go on a Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night. On Wednesdays you can enjoy a fantastic night of jazz whilst dining. If jazz is not your thing why not take in the dramatic tones of the sopranos on Fridays and Saturdays? Claudio’s is truly a place to enjoy the finer things in life.
