Thanks to its fresh flavours and expert blends of spices, together with top-quality produce and efficient service, it’s easy to see why Needoo Grill is so popular. Since opening its doors in 2009, the restaurant has become a firm favourite dining destination in the Whitechapel area.
Food is prepared using traditional recipes, offering diners deliciously authentic Punjabi cuisine. The extensive menu is packed with a host of exceptional biryani, haleem, nihari, curry, kebab and tikka dishes, together with a selection of daily specials. Among the many tempting dishes, you’ll find karahi gosht, a very hearty, rich dish with tender lamb, spicy chilli powder and thick tomato sauce, as well as creamy karahi butter chicken masala and king prawn curry. Expect fluffy, light naans, too, and there are also plenty of options for vegetarians, including bhindi bhagi (okra curry) and Punjabi tinda (baby pumpkin curry), all of which are full of exciting tastes and textures. The star of the show, however, has to be the tantalising grilled lamb chops, which are served on a sizzling hot plate. The meat itself is beautiful and lean, they’re as juicy as they are spicy, and the marinade is an absolute triumph.
Alcohol isn’t served here, but diners are more than welcome to bring their own – and corkage is free. Alternatively visitors can select from the range of soft drinks, which includes the likes of masala tea and fruit juice.
Not only is the food well executed, but guests will also receive friendly service. Offering exceptional value for money and consistently high standards, it’s no surprise that Needoo Grill continues to go from strength to strength. What’s more, if you’d prefer to enjoy a Punjabi feast in your own home, dishes are available to take away.
