As you enter Meejana, the first impression is that of warmth and friendliness, and the decor has an opulent feel that is immediately inviting. The restaurant’s owners’ creativity further extends to their menu, which they have successfully made to be unique, authentic and varied. The owners are also incredibly knowledgeable – if there’s anything you’ve ever wanted to know about Lebanon, be it the food, traditions or heritage, these are the people to ask.
The food at Meejana is exquisite, which is in no small part thanks to being produced fresh to order with well-sourced ingredients, fresh herbs, and the chef’s knowledgeable and light touch. Indeed, nothing is over- or under-spiced, or over-cooked. Every dish is beautifully presented, and the vibrant colours, fresh ingredients and delicate flavours result in a real treat for the tastebuds. Desserts are deliciously sweet, with traditional favourites such as baklava and rum baba available along with an incredible selection of artisan ice creams. The wine list is exceptional too, with a good blend of Lebanese wines and more mainstream Old and New World varieties.
Meejana also offers a lighter lunch menu, including a wide range of wraps, mezze selection platters, salads, fresh juices and smoothies, all of which are made with the same careful attention to detail as the à la carte menu.
