Boy's restaurants have been pleasing the palates of many a discerning diner for 20 years, and it's not hard to see why so many people are returning time and time again for simply outstanding dining experiences. A great atmosphere, excellent service, superb value and delicious authentic Thai food make up the winning recipe that has seen this dining institution go from strength to strength.
Fat Boy's Chiswick was the first of the Fat Boy's group of restaurants, which are now thriving at sites across West London. Chiswick is the only Fat Boy's you'll find serving English, Thai and Mediterranean food throughout the day; transforming in the evening into a tantalising Thai restaurant serving mouth-watering dishes. This restaurant has been a local favourite for many years and fully deserves all the success it enjoys; this year it will celebrate its 20th birthday - a true survivor. With food this good, it's not surprising to see full and happy diners still filling the tables throughout the week.
Fat Boy's Richmond is a well-kept secret for those who live over Richmond Bridge and, as at its sister restaurants, the food and service here are delightful. Delicious green curries, pad Thai and seafood dishes are perfectly complemented by a good selection of wines and traditional Thai beers. During the summer there is a decked garden area to enjoy, and throughout the year the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Fat Boy's in East Sheen is the latest of these tempting restaurants to throw open its doors, providing a stylish atmosphere with very affordable authentic Thai food. Booking at the weekend is advisable, as already it has become a neighbourhood favourite. My recommendation would be the prawn or chicken green curry, followed by Thai pancakes and ice cream. All the ingredients are freshly prepared daily, creating a truly delicious meal.
Two more equally welcoming and delicious Fat Boy's restaurants can be found near Ealing Broadway and on Brentford High Street. At each restaurant the set lunchtime meals are exceedingly well priced, with two courses available for under £10. There is also a large selection of vegetarian dishes available and any meal can be adapted to your taste. Owner of Fat Boy's, Thanyarat 'Nicky' Santichatsak is still very involved in the day-to-day running of the business, and her hands-on approach is the reason Fat Boy's remains so successful. Each restaurant boasts its own unique decor, atmosphere and style, but you can rest assured you'll find the same deliciously authentic cuisine and welcoming smiles at every one.
