Tim’s Table is a family-run, friendly restaurant specialising in Peking and Szechuan cuisine. Flourishing for some 17 years in leafy Radlett is no mean feat, being surrounded by up to 30 eateries in an area which caters for the Elstree film Studios groupies, as well as the Premier League footballers from Arsenal and Tottenham.

Clearly, the preparation sets Tim’s Table above its rivals in offering attention to detail and carefully nurtured sources of raw ingredients – the duck marinade is just sensational. Despite several discrete questions the chef was reluctant to part with the ingredients, but we detected cinnamon, peppercorns and aniseed, although there had to be others to produce such a memorably succulent flavour. The meat itself is just delicious, coming fresh from Norfolk every day.

Parking is easy, as is travelling on the Thameslink London to Radlett line – Tim’s Table is just 250 yards from the station. Takeaways are available at 85% of the restaurant cost.

You would have to travel quite a distance to find another establishment offering such excellent quality and value for money. Enjoy.
