Rockin' Chair

This is no ordinary restaurant. Bringing Caribbean cuisine and culture to Cardiff, Rockin' Chair offers a unique atmosphere and a menu filled with some of the most exciting flavours to be found in the city. The ackee (a traditional Caribbean fruit) and saltfish starter is wonderful, and the goat or chicken curries are as tender and flavoursome a dish as any I've tasted. Spice without fire is the result of careful cooking, and the Rockin' Chair boasts a skilled chef. Other delights include fried red snapper, jerk chicken (accompanied by fluffy basmati rice) and Caribbean soup. The desserts are as traditional as the main courses, consisting of homemade apple tarts, jackfruit desserts and carrot and ginger cakes. Rockin' Chair offers a delightful three-course evening meal, complete with soulful background music, for around £15 per head - excellent value for money.
