Tempus Fugit is situated on the main road through Ogmore by Sea's unspoilt coastline and boasts a lovely terrace with stunning sea views. The restaurant itself has a Mediterranean feel and is reminiscent of those small, cosy bars you often stumble across on holiday, with pine furnishings and bright walls. Bookings are highly recommended, especially during the summer months as there are only five indoor tables and it gets full very quickly.
The emphasis here is on quality and simplicity and, using the very best ingredients, everything is freshly cooked to order; you can even watch the chefs at work in the open-plan kitchen. Authenticity is key and some of the ingredients, such as the Spanish chorizo (£4.95), are even imported from Spain and freshly cooked to order with just a touch of head chef Shaun's magic.
As well as a wide selection of tapas dishes, Tempus Fugit also boasts some of 'the best pizza in Wales', a claim supported, not only by their many customers, but also by reviewer Jennifer Hobbs Roberts from Vale Life and a recent review in the South Wales Echo. The pizzas are thin and crispy, cooked to a traditional secret recipe and topped with a homemade sauce and authentic Italian and Spanish ingredients. There is an excellent wine list to complement the food, and imported San Miguel on draught to complete the holiday mood. This really is a lovely place to while away those cold evenings.
