Starters include thin slices of smoked duck breast served with a spicy redcurrant jelly or warm goat’s cheese and sun-dried tomato tartlet. I followed my starter with medallions of beef fillet pan-fried and glazed in a stilton and port wine butter – amazing succulent and carefully crafted.

Finally, among the mousses, pralines and warm brioche bread and butter puddings that are included in the dessert menu, you will find West Country clotted cream and of course, a West Country cheeseboard. Need I say more?
