Positioned on the south-facing, seaward side of Torquay’s premier conference facility, this restaurant and bar offers a warm welcome and a pleasant location in which to indulge in breakfast, lunch or dinner. Weather permitting, its large sun terrace provides an excellent setting for dining with exposure to the sea air and excellent views. Inside, the warm decor and elegant lighting create a pleasant environment for dining as a couple or with a larger group.

You can start the day here with a great value breakfast – a piping-hot traditional English fry-up with toast, jams, juice and tea or coffee for £6.50. If you are feeling a bit more decadent go for the scrambled egg and smoked salmon muffin. During the day, why not grab a casual lunch, choosing from a wide range of freshly prepared dishes – from paninis to the homemade pie of the week. Simply turn up, choose an empty table and order at the bar; you will need to book for Sunday lunch though – at £12.50 for three courses it proves very popular. In the evenings the Bay Brasserie transforms into a refreshingly different environment – a full bar and locally renowned restaurant.

The seasonal evening menu offers something for everyone, with choices from tagliatelle verde with julienne of smoked ham, mushroom and white wine sauce, to roast half chilli-glazed duck with Oriental vegetables. Also available are mouth-watering steaks with a choice of interesting sauces. For vegetarians, the restaurant offers some delicious options – baked open cup mushrooms filled with tomato concasse, red onions and basil, topped with mozzarella cheese and finished with a fresh asparagus sauce being a perfect example.

Do not miss the barbecue and rotisserie during May, June, July and August – serving up local burgers, grilled seafood and spit-roasted chickens – perfect for the whole family. Whenever you choose to visit, you can be sure of the friendliest service and the most delicious food prepared by head chef Tony Sims.
