The Big Fish (also known as Barnabys) is Stratford’s largest and busiest traditional fish and chips restaurant and takeaway. Family-run by a team with a collective 50 years of experience, it is ideally located on the corner of Waterside and Sheep Street with views overlooking Bancroft Gardens and The Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

The Big Fish serves up delicious freshly prepared fish and chips, perfect for a casual takeaway to enjoy in the park on a sunny afternoon, or with a glass of wine in the restaurant as a pre-theatre meal in the evening. Recently refurbished, with an updated menu introducing unique variations to this great tradition for the more adventurous or diet conscious, The Big Fish certainly lives up to its name. Choose from a large variety of fish including cod, plaice, haddock, calamari, swordfish and sole goujons, and their southern-fried coated cod, perfect with chips or crispy fresh salad.

The 78-seater restaurant can accommodate large parties, and the service is fast, making this a perfect venue for coach parties, tourists or even birthday celebrations. Families with young children will feel comfortable in the casual surroundings and children will love the kid’s meals.

The Big Fish is a must for visitors who wish to sample the ultimate Great British tradition.
