Sardine is the creative brainchild of Alex Jackson and Stevie Parle. This foodie hotspot serves simple yet extraordinarily beautiful food in a place to see and be seen.
Once inside, cherish the contemporary, fresh design of this quietly cool establishment before casting your eye over the attractive and brief menu. The restaurant’s interior of pastel tiles, concrete and wood lends a modern, understated vibe, and the open kitchen gives diners a view of the chefs whipping up luscious seasonal fare. In addition to the expected private tables, Sardine boasts a long communal table for sociable diners.
The menu is based around Southern French cooking over the wood fire. Fresh flavours and intriguing texture combinations make choosing from the menu difficult, and once you’ve tasted the cuisine here there’s no turning back. The weekend breakfast is worth sampling, with options such as the breakfast cassoulet, girolles omelette and pain d’épice with salted butter proving a real hit. Make the start of your week a little brighter and book yourself a table at the monthly set dinners, dubbed La Grand Bouffe, which take place on the final Monday of every month. We reckon you’ll be smitten with Sardine as soon as you set foot through the door.
