The award-winning Stanwell House Hotel is situated at the heart of Lymington. One step off the High Street lies a grand hallway that entices you into a world of pure Georgian luxury.

There are no less than four menus at Stanwell House, suiting all palates. The seafood menu is an absolute must for fish lovers, with starters and mains showcasing the best the ocean has to offer. It also features small plates of ‘seafood temptations’ – tapas style portions of seafood such as devilled whitebait, baked sardines and potted shrimp.

The bistro menu is split into two. The ‘simply bistro’ is set at £19.45 for two courses and £24.95 for three, whereas the ‘fine bistro’ menu has à la carte prices. The ‘simply’ menu features such dishes as chicken liver parfait with melba toast to start, coq au vin to follow and creme caramel to finish. The ‘fine’ menu brings you French cooking at its best, created from the finest ingredients. Seared fois gras in ginger crumb with poached apricots for example.

The ‘anytime’ menu is for more informal dining, with hot beverages, snacks, breakfasts, light lunches and traditional afternoon teas.

The interior is bold, with brightly coloured velvets and silks adorning the furniture, and the adjoining garden allows for brilliant natural lighting and the opportunity for alfresco dining. Where better to enjoy a romantic dinner?
