Owners Malcolm and Carol offer the warmest of welcomes at The Crown Inn, along with some superb home-cooked food in their quiet, friendly restaurant.
You can enjoy lunch and evening meals here, all of which are prepared and cooked in the pub’s kitchen, where they try to use locally sourced products whenever possible. Make sure you look out for their lunchtime deals, such as ‘two dine for the price of one’ and £5 meals for the over-60s (both from a limited menu). Visit on a Sunday and indulge in their fantastic roast or carvery, then stay afterwards for a pint or two in the homely surrounds of the bar.
As well as a lovely restaurant, The Crown Inn houses a function room with space for up to 40 guests for a sit-down meal, or up to 75 to dine buffet-style – the ideal choice for a special occasion. If you want to make a night of it, take advantage of the fabulous bed-and-breakfast facilities. There are four bedrooms – a twin room at £40; a double with en-suite at £60; a family room with a double and single bed, without an ensuite, which costs £60 for three sharing or £40 for two; and finally a family room with en-suite, which costs just £60 for two people or £80 for three. These value-for-money prices include a delicious full English breakfast – the only way to begin a day in this historic market town.
