It's a celebration of Scotland's larder under one roof at The Scottish Cafe and Restaurant. Winner of 'Best Customer Service of the Year' at The Scottish Restaurant Awards 2012, this eatery lovingly creates contemporary and classic dishes using the finest Scottish ingredients and delivers them with style. ocated near Princes Street Gardens, within the Scottish National Gallery, there's no shortage of hungry art-lovers after an early morning breakfast or leisurely lunch. The café even offers a delicious afternoon tea before it closes its doors in the evenings for private parties and corporate functions. The restaurant's divine interior - devised by Scottish design house ANTA - features individually commissioned hand-woven fabrics, Scottish oak and Caithness slate. There are original oil paintings by celebrated Scottish artists Sir William Gillies and Anne Redpath, as well as striking portraits of the restaurant's handpicked suppliers.

The Scottish Cafe and Restaurant invests a huge amount of time in sourcing its produce direct, with 90 per cent of its ingredients coming from over 50 Scottish artisan suppliers, including Peelham Farm, Phantassie, Inverurie Beef and Scotherbs. Popular dishes include Aberdeen butteries with Clava Brie, Isle of Mull Cheddar, Borders boiled ham and homemade chutney, as well as hearty, flavoursome Cullen Skink and battered Scottish haddock with hand-cut chips. Seasonal soups and patés are also on offer and guests can also enjoy a selection of malts from Royal Mile Whiskies and beers from Scottish suppliers.
