![]() Frangos - Fire Grilled Chicken
Location: 65-67 High Street, Hounslow, TW3 1RB [map]
Phone: 0845 206 1192 Open: Mon-Sun 11.30am-11.30pm Website: www.frangos-restaurant.co.uk Tasty, fresh and healthy – that’s a good start for any venue that markets itself as a family restaurant. Add in value for money and relaxed surroundings in the Rotunda in Kingston, which is also home to the Odeon multiplex cinema, Megabowl and the David Lloyd fitness club, and you have a real recipe for success. I think the focus of the menu is the key to their success – it’s simple, concise and yet manages appeal to a range of tastes. The appeal of the restaurant is clear: fire-grilled chicken cooked freshly to your taste, coated in a delicious special marinade. The menu also includes a selection of alternatives to chicken ranging from steaks to sandwiches, vegetarian options and a selection of salads. Side orders, including the famous fries with fire spice, are not to be missed. My seven-year-old guest appreciated the speed at which the meal appeared and enjoyed the self-serve selection of various sauces, each with clear descriptions of flavour and degrees of chilli content. Combo meals from £4.95 per person to larger family sharing platters from £14.95 are a real crowd pleaser. The small selection of wines and beers is appropriate; the majority of diners were drinking soft drinks, which can be refilled as often as you like. My guest enjoyed her ice cream whilst I observed the surrounding tables of teenagers and families. The teenagers clearly at the first stop of a Saturday night out, the families feeding children in a no-fuss manner after an afternoon movie. My final verdict? Frangos is a great place for families and friends, serving up wholesome and tasty great-value food. No wonder a second branch recently opened in Hounslow. < return to search results |
