Ground breaking in more ways that one, Zerodegrees is a jaw-droppingly stunning venue. A marvel of modern architecture, Zerodegrees offers the perfect opportunity for drinking and alfresco dining on the terrace. What better way to wile away a summer’s afternoon than to relax with a glass of wine watching the world beneath your feet.
Entering on the upper level, the scene below you is impressive. Beautifully laid tables and polished wooden flooring lead you passed the vats and toward the staircase. Big, bold industrial chic is the best way I can describe the design here. Stainless steel lighting and huge sprawling pipes make up the view if you look up; below the bar performs a circular sweep and dominates the floor. The colourful selection of bottles behind the bar draws the eye and intrigues the palate.
Unpasturised, fresh and with no artificial colours or preservatives, these beers are the real deal. Hand crafted and brewed on site, the list is impressive with something bound to please even the most devout hop aficionado. Black lagers, wheat ales, pilsner and pale ales make up the menu, along with an intriguing mango beer. Available in halves, pints and four pint jugs, their cacophony of flavours can be tried and tested throughout your evening. Five litre party kegs are available to takeaway, or if you are throwing a really impressive bash, the 50 litre keg will make sure things go off with a bang.
The clientele is a real mix, with diners and drinkers mingling easily – the extensive food menu can be enjoyed in the both the restaurant area, bar area and on any of the three terraces.
The scale of this place means that whether its your office Christmas party, product launch, after-show do or family celebration, you’ll be left in no doubt as to the aptness of Zerodegrees. Upmarket and definitely cool, they can lay on a buffet and accommodate up to 500 guests in style.
Happy hour is just another factor that will draw you in and keep you coming back time and time again. Monday to Friday between 5pm and 7pm you can take advantage of the cut-priced drinks – what better way to start your evening.
Good coffee, stimulating surroundings, staff who clearly love what they do, quality food and drink – and not forgetting the beer – I would say that Zerodegrees has got everything bang on the money.
