Privately owned and located in a quiet corner of Bath, the restaurant enjoys beautiful views over their own four acres of landscape gardens. The Bath Priory boasts the city’s only Michelin-starred restaurant, with head chef Chris Horridge at the helm. The restaurant was recently voted one of the Top 40 places to eat in the UK by The Good Food Guide 2008; no mean feat considering over 1,200 restaurants were reviewed. Precision and simplicity are key to Chris’ cooking, which is influenced by Mediterranean and modern French cuisine, and to ensure absolute freshness he uses only the best produce from local suppliers. Chris’ inspired dishes include pan-fried scallops with fennel in various forms – bronze fennel shoots and pollen; roasted bass with spring leeks, chorizo oil and St. John’s Wort emulsion; plus sumptuous desserts such as chocolate tartine with a stroke of spice, salty parsnip and sour cherry; and ‘lemon and herbs’ – a Cornish pasta of lemon balm, ginger and lemongrass with Kifir ice. Lunchtime guests can choose from a two-course menu from £20, or three courses from £25. Sunday lunch is £35 per person with coffee, and dinner is £55 per person, with the ‘Panoply’ tasting menu at £70. Food and wine are an integral part of The Bath Priory and the staff pride themselves on the highest standards of service. The hotel provides the perfect ambience for you to relax and enjoy fine dining, and they look forward to welcoming new guests and regular diners alike. < return to search results |
