Taste of Thai, opposite the historic docks in Gloucester City, is a great place to relax and enjoy a calm atmosphere, and to enjoy some extremely good food.

The décor is elegant with low candles and fresh flowers on each table. The extensive menu includes notable treats such as the fantastically-named Weeping Tiger (thinly sliced marinated sirloin served with traditional Thai spicy sauce), or Sleeping Beauty (a whole sea bass steamed with soy sauce and fresh ginger).

The ‘yummy’ platter is just as it sounds, and includes a good selection of small dishes – Thai spring rolls, chicken satay, fish cakes, prawns on toast and crispy won tons with 3 dipping sauces. There’s lots of choice for Vegetarians too.

While Taste of Thai is definitely an adventure in taste, don’t worry if you have a more conservative palate. The menu has a spice guide and with such a wide variety to choose from, you’ll definitely not go home hungry. There’s a good selection of drinks too.

With such excellent food at such reasonable prices, why not have your office party here? There’s a take-away service too. But my preference? To sit in ambient surroundings soaking up all Taste of Thai has to offer.
