It’s tricky to express in so few words what a fantastic time my guest and I had at Cocochan. Although we were instantly wowed by the stylish monochromatic decor and equally smart staff, what really blew us away was the menu – we were delighted to find imaginative, contemporary dishes from the likes of Japan, China, Thailand, Korea and India on offer. The great thing about dining here is that there’s no set way to order – you can go for three courses each or a selection of dishes to share. We began with the spider soft-shell crab futomaki; neat rolls brimming with juicy crab meat. We then devoured rich miso-marinated cod and succulent seared sesame tuna, before enjoying a refreshing basil sorbet. We weren’t ready to leave Cocochan’s laid-back atmosphere behind quite yet, so headed to the bar for some well-made cocktails – a perfect evening.
