Benefiting from a recent refurbishment, Sant-Yago tapas and cocktail bar provides an awesome casual dining experience. Its relaxed atmosphere, complete with cosy sofas and eclectic but well-thought-out decor will make you feel right at home, while the modern yet retro vibe and rhythmic music will get you in the mood for a fun evening out. Sarah is peerless in her running of the restaurant, so rest assured you’ll be well-looked after.
A thoughtfully constructed menu provides plenty of choice but doesn’t overwhelm – what you see is exactly what you get. If you’re struggling to make a decision, I can highly recommend the chicken and rump beef skewers, which are succulent and delicious, as are dishes such as pulled rib meat, smoked pork and beef meatballs and stuffed aubergine rolls in a rich tomato sauce. Trust me when I say, there isn’t a single thing you wouldn’t want to order again.
Chef Jon has created dishes based on traditional tapas recipes and given each one a unique modern twist – for example the Basque fish stew marries the bold flavours of the Mediterranean with delicate smoked fish. Whether you’re out to impress a date, to relax among friends or after some cheeky cocktails, this restaurant is a sound choice. The venue can also be hired for weddings, birthdays and other special occasions.
