Morgan’s is an independent restaurant bringing the flavours of Mediterranean shores to a British one. The dining area is spacious enough to allow a relaxed time for everyone, but still a sense of European romance prevails. Simple, stylish decor and elegant lighting create an atmosphere in which you’ll want to linger; luckily, there’s plenty of quality food and drink to keep you entertained, and the front-of-house staff will ensure your visit helps you to unwind.

Executive chef Ryan Marsland, who has previously run an AA-rosetted kitchen, is refreshingly down-to-earth and believes in using fresh, local produce in his confidence-inspiring open kitchen. Perhaps begin with pan-fried scallop and crispy Cornish pork belly salad with aubergine purée, followed by braised lamb shank with red wine, tomato and rosemary. If you’re a seafood fan, choose one of the fresh daily specials – the dishes change in line with what the day boats at Looe have provided. The ‘express lunch’ menu offers lighter meals such as a poached salmon, West Country crab and mayonnaise ciabatta, or simply enjoy some Italian afternoon indulgence with creamy tiramisu and freshly ground coffee. Separate children’s, pre-theatre, party, cocktail and specialevent menus mean that every occasion is a delicious one at Morgan’s; and their ‘Lazy Sundays’ are a real treat thanks to delicious roasts with European twists.
