Set in Fen Drayton, this charming village pub dates back to the 15th Century. The dining area, separated from the bar by a red velvet curtain, gives guests the feeling of being enveloped in the comfortable ambience of an olde-worlde sitting room, with dark wooden beams, low ceilings and old prints adorning the walls. A good selection of real ales is available alongside a reasonably priced wine list. The menu is varied and exciting – traditional home-cooked fare, including lasagne, chilli and curry, is always available and diversity comes in the shape of roasted lamb, char-grilled pork and steak dishes on the daily specials board. Delicious puddings are generally homemade, with fruit pies and fudge tarts the most popular. Vegetarian and gluten-free diners are accommodated within the menu and by specific request. This is a place for traditional, home-cooked fare and a warm welcome.
