The Littlecote House Hotel, surrounded by picturesque landscaped grounds, is home to Oliver’s Bistro, a sophisticated eatery where attentive staff will make you feel pampered and special throughout your visit.
All meals are veritable works of art, put together with utmost attention to detail by the bistro’s accomplished chef and his team. To start, I was treated to an immaculately presented and incredibly tender Hampshire pork cheek served on a bed of Savoy cabbage with parsnip purée and brandy sauce. My partner sampled the Roquefort soufflé, which had a satisfyingly crispy coating and a gloriously light, gooey centre. Next, I enjoyed wild-mushroom-stuffed lamb cutlet with potatoes Dauphinoise, confit garlic, pea purée and braised shoulder, while my companion eagerly tucked into melt-in-the-mouth beef fillet served with flavoursome accompaniments of creamy celeriac purée and braised shallots. Sticky toffee pudding with caramel sauce and ice cream, and rhubarb cheesecake with honey-poached rhubarb and a sesame tuile, provided a suitably decadent end to our evening of indulgence. Offering an elegant setting, a sumptuous menu and first-class service, Oliver’s Bistro is a fabulous find, so make sure you contact hotel reception to book a table.
