The Six Bells Inn is a charming, family-owned 400-year-old pub in the picturesque village of Payhembury. A hearty welcome awaits when you walk through the door. The cosy restaurant has an excellent and varied menu offering mouth-watering specials and a ‘steak-for-two’ offer which attracts diners from far and wide. The pub has a very good selection of reasonably priced wines and beers and is a popular local haunt due to its skittles alley. After a delicious starter of garlic mushrooms, I had an excellent chicken curry with all the trimmings while my wife feasted on local crabcakes. Although the helpings were generous, we couldn’t resist the wonderful dessert menu, opting for cinnamon waf fles with ice cream, and a Baileys and white chocolate mousse. With friendly and attentive service to boot, we enjoyed our evening immensely – we had certainly found a treasure.
