Residing at charming canalside music venue, The Navigation Inn – which boasts award-winning ales – Annie’s offers a grand gamut of gourmet burgers, voted the UK’s best by MSN Him readers. There are over 25 burgers on the menu which showcase the best local meats, with superb vegetarian and vegan options available in equal measure. The delightful Annie, who hails from across the pond, is passionate about sourcing ingredients locally, or according to region – as the Jamaican seasoning in my Caribbean demonstrated. The jerk-spiced beef with saucy onions, peppers and pineapple transported me to more tropical climes for the brief moments it took me to demolish it. The vegetarian Howlin’ Lord with wickedly hot chilli relish was just as flavoursome. Both were stacked high and accompanied by Cajun-spiced wedges. Burger buffs and lovers of live music will be thrilled with this family-friendly joint.
