The impressive Gothic landmark, Lincoln Cathedral, houses centuries of history with stories of bishops and kings, saints and sinners, pilgrims and worshippers all documented within its fine walls. Hidden just off the cloisters is the cathedral’s refectory, a meeting place for worshippers and tourists alike.
The Cloister Refectory offers a little slice of home-made goodness in the centre of a bustling city. With Gothic arches framing huge windows, the refectory is bright and light and provides some quality comfort food. In association with the Taste of Lincolnshire, a variety of pastries, sandwiches, locally-made cakes, home-made soups and hearty hot meals are served at extremely reasonable prices, so whatever you fancy, there will be something wholesome and delicious to keep those hunger pangs at bay.
From locally-sourced sausages, served in baps or as hearty sausage and mash, to cottage pie, leek and potato pie, lasagne and jacket potatoes, the daily specials board makes the most of local produce. For something light on a warm day, the salad bar provides a sunny alternative and plenty of choice. Teacakes, teas and coffees are served all day and a main meal will set you back no more than £6.
Coach parties are welcome and private functions can be catered for. With outdoor seating, whatever the weather, time of year, or reason for visiting this impressive British treasure, the Cloister Refectory team will make sure that you leave with a satisfied appetite, ready for whatever the rest of your day might throw at you.
