Webb’s on the Farm promise that their food will be “a feast for the senses” and that is one promise that is kept at this wonderful café and bistro. Tucked away in the Farndon Field Farm Shop, Market Harborough, Webb’s is light, airy and welcoming. Smiling staff show you to rustic tables and the whole place has a distinctly charming country feel.
The menu is varied and appealing. The café specialises in healthy food using farm fresh ingredients and their range runs from breakfast to lunch; everything from paninis to salads, melt-in-the-mouth freshly baked scones and irresistible coffee and walnut cake is on offer. Everything looks so good, and knowing it has been created in-house from the freshest of ingredients discourages guilty feelings and waistline worries. There are specials like Finnish beetroot soup and mushroom salad. If you have trouble choosing, then the helpful staff are on hand to recommend something, so don’t be afraid to ask.
Webb’s has only been open since May this year but the café is already very popular. Regular clientele include young mums, local residents and customers from the farm shop. Webb’s is child friendly, offering high chairs and even children’s specials. Our meal of poached salmon nicoise and goat’s cheese and onion marmalade panini was wonderful. The food was fresh and colourful, well presented and there was plenty of it. My panini was particularly good, the cheese melting in the mouth and the onion marmalade only adding to the excitement.
Neither of us can wait to return and try Webb’s wares again. There is nothing on the menu that I didn’t fancy and this healthy option for breakfast, brunch or lunch comes highly recommended.
