Waterfront Champagne Bar and Restaurant, formerly Covatis, is set in the historic town of Market Harborough in a former warehouse overlooking the water where the views are superb. They offer a contemporary but relaxing and casual dining experience where you can drink fine wine and sample food from around the world, freshly prepared by the chef. You can see the hustle and bustle of the busy open kitchen to one side, and the picturesque water to the other. Goat’s cheese in a filo basket with a balsamic reduction and butternut squash dressing provides a tangy and flavourful start to your meal, whilst the whole fresh king tiger prawns tossed with butter and lemon juice served on a crispy green salad is a fresh and light precursor that instantly transports you to warmer climes. Scottish beef fillet served on dauphinoise potatoes with green peppercorns, wild mushroom and red wine reduction, makes the mouth water at the mere sight of it – a dish of succulent textures with creamy tones. My particular favourite, canoed sea bass, oven baked and served with a seafood medley, is a fish lover’s heaven. Desserts do not disappoint, and continue the theme of quality and attention to detail that runs through the whole menu; chocolate fondant served with vanilla pod ice cream and the amaretto and Kahlúa tiramisu are just two such dishes.

The restaurant can seat up to 80 people and during the summer a great outdoor seating area is available.
