Loved for its award-winning design and quirky retro touches, The Lansdowne is all about good, honest, seasonal food served in a laid-back atmosphere. Achieving this apparently effortlessly, the staff’s dedication and attention to detail has made The Lansdowne what it is today.
Having set eyes on the glorious menu, you may find yourself spending more time here than anticipated. There are plenty of imaginative sandwiches and light bite dishes, including pan-seared king scallops served with black pudding and pea purée. But if it’s something more hearty you crave, we recommend something like the pork and apple sausage cassoulet, or pan-fried halloumi and quinoa jambalaya – just remember to leave room for the scrumptious homemade desserts. There are delicious breakfasts served all day on Saturdays and a generous roast available every Sunday.
The drinks are just as much of a hit as the food, particularly the cocktails. Alongside retro classics, there are innovative creations and a selection of award-winning ales. For informal meetings and special occasions, hire The Pits – just off the main bar – which accommodates up to 140 people. The Lansdowne is a destination bar and restaurant, whatever the occasion.
