Looking for a good, fun place to dine? Why not try Rio Bravo Mexican restaurant, set in the beautiful surroundings of The Square in Market Harborough. It’s great for all occasions, whether a meal for two or a night out with a large party.
Mid-week or weekend, there is always a lively hustle and bustle about the place – you can really get into the Mexican party mood with their fun-packed nights of outstanding ambience.
The attentive and efficient team members are always looking for an excuse to celebrate, happy to whip out a big sombrero and a tequila slammer with sparkler for birthdays, not forgetting small sombreros for everyone else. Of the many drinks on offer, there are 25 tequilas as well as Mexican beers, and if that isn’t enough, try a cocktail from the extensive menu.
The open kitchen means you can watch your meal being prepared. The friendly chef told us that he comes from Acapulco and has worked in many top restaurants in Mexico, including the well-known Palace Resort and The Crystal Hotel, in Cancun.
There is a feast of authentic traditional Mexican favourites that appeal to all appetites. Starters are priced from £3.95, while main courses average £8.70, and portions are generous. You can spot the most popular dish – their famous fajitas – quite easily, as they pass you sizzling from the kitchen, with a wisp of smoke and gorgeous aroma that makes your mouth water.
Personally, one of my favourites is the chimichanga la changa, a crunchy tortilla stuffed with the filling of your choice and topped with melted cheese and jalapeños, sour cream and guacamole, presented with a lovely Mexican salad, rice and refried beans.
The sun always shines at Rio Bravo.
