Open for nearly seven years now, Moomba is well recognised as one on the area’s premier eating establishments. Stripped of pretension, it offers a modern informal dining experience that reflects the multicultural make-up of Australia today; with its earthy, outdoor feel, it is definitely more Alice Springs than Ramsey Street.

The menu features a wide variety of marinated meats and fish, with a daily specials board that’s full of even more innovative dishes. Take, for example, the barramundi fillet with Parmesan crust served with a new potato and rocket salad, kangaroo rump with pumpkin mash and sweet pepper relish or pan-fried ostrich steak on a caramelised onion couscous with bush tomato chutney.

Inventiveness is further illustrated amongst the dessert menu selections, all of which are made in-house and encompass a spectrum of indigenous Australian flavours. The white chocolate and coffee torte with wattleseed cream, and lemon myrtle cake with berry compote are just two of the choices you’ll encounter. Prices at Moomba range from £3.50 to £5.50 for starters, and £7.95 to £12.95 for main courses, and the all-Australian list of wines and wide range of imported Aussie beers only add to the appeal.
