For over a decade this family-run city centre bistro has been building up a thriving daytime trade. 2012 saw the pleasing addition of a steakhouse restaurant. The food is of an extremely high standard and the atmosphere both lively and welcoming. Admiring the bistro’s transformative evening makeover, we were treated to ideal pre-steak starters of pan-fried scallops with pancetta and a pea and mint sauce, and a delicious avocado, pesto and mozzarella salad. Then came the eagerly anticipated steaks, which were all we had hoped. The 8oz cuts were succulent and cooked to perfection, complemented by a choice of delicious sauces and served with tasty seasonal vegetables. Desserts were warming and stylish, rounding off a delightful evening. In the heart of Leicester’s cultural quarter, this hidden gem eatery arguably reinvents the steakhouse with its modern setting, unique style and classy menu.
