Open: Mon-Fri noonmidnight; Sat & Sun noon-1am

Cafe Bruxelles has a unique, neoclassical atmosphere, enhanced by its elaborate European decor, domed ceiling and pillars.

Recently voted one of the “top places to visit” by the Leicestershire Tourist Board, this unusual restaurant is famous for its vast range of Belgian beers and attracts a discerning clientele, including local celebrities and sporting stars.

The main restaurant is located on the ground floor, with an intimate cellar bar downstairs which hosts live music and can be hired for private parties or business functions from Sunday to Thursday, inclusive. The popular lunchtime menu includes gourmet sandwiches and pasta as well as various steak dishes for those who prefer something more substantial. Mussels and beer evenings and Sunday roasts are extremely popular and the regularly updated à la carte menu demonstrates the venue’s eclectic European influences, offering a good range of dishes for fish and meat lovers, as well as vegetarians – all at very reasonable prices.

We plumped for deep-fried Brie and tomato and the feta salad for starters – both beautifully presented and full of flavour. This was followed by Italian chicken on a bed of roasted vegetables and a succulent Cajun salmon fillet – both cooked to perfection.

A one of a kind restaurant that you will want to visit time and time again.
