If you find yourself wandering around Leeds' city centre searching for a taste of something a bit different, head to Bishopgate Street and discover this fantastic little restaurant. Ephesus Mangal - also known fondly as Efes Mangal - serves up traditional Turkish dishes in an inviting setting. The atmosphere is intimate with room for up to 32 diners, the service is efficiently attentive and the food is delicious.
Everything on the menu here is homemade and freshly prepared, cooked in front of customers on a real charcoal grill barbecue. The aromas are enough to get your mouth watering, and the food that follows more than lives up to expectations set by the sight of quality produce sizzling away. You can enjoy meze starters to share - perhaps tuck into a mixed meze featuring stuffed vine leaves, Russian salad, soslu patlican (aubergine with tomato sauce), tarama, hummus and more. All main courses are served with freshly baked Turkish pide bread, rice and beautifully fresh Mediterannean salad. Opt for a classic sheesh kebab or Efes special kebab (enough for two people) and watch your meal being created as the skilled chefs work their magic.
Ephesus Mangal was recently visited by Metro, who awarded the restaurant a four-star rating for food and service. This is surely thanks to the friendly staff, the clean and welcoming decor, and the fresh high-quality ingredients used in each fantastic dish. You'll soon be telling your friends about Efes Mangal.
