The name Amber is synonymous with the legendary Andy Chung, who first brought traditional Chinese cuisine to Glasgow over 20 years ago. He soon gained a reputation for his quality and service – something that he now brings to his restaurant on West Regent Street. It is within these four walls that Andy displays his culinary skills to an appreciative audience. Indeed, this restaurant is so proud of its cuisine that the menu and website list a wealth of exciting recipes for you to try yourself.

Amber Regent serves the finest fresh fish – the lobster with ginger and spring onion or black bean sauce is a delight, as is the steamed sea bass with ginger, spring onion and soya sauce. The chicken, duck and home specials also pack a punch. The table d’hote features dishes selected by the chef himself, including king prawns, beef with green pepper and Mandarin sauce. The banquet menu offers something truly special – ideal for couples looking for a special evening.

Amber Regent’s fine food and ambience have not gone unnoticed – it was previously recommended in the Michelin Guide, and has received a number of accolades. This exceptional restaurant is ideally located – theatres, a shopping centre and cinemas are all nearby – so, at lunchtime before a busy afternoon, or to wind down after a tough day hitting the shops, it has to be Amber Regent.
