Zaap hit the Leeds street food scene in May 2015 and opened in York in September 2019. Since then, its impact has been nothing short of amazing, resulting in the restaurant winning the Best Street Food Award 2016 in the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Oliver Awards, and being named the best restaurant in Leeds in the Lifestyle Awards. Zaap brings a small corner of Bangkok to the bustling city centres of Leeds and York.
Zaap is like no other restaurant – if you’re lucky enough to have visited Thailand, you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d left England and landed in the middle of a Bangkok street food market. Zaap instantly grabs your attention with its neon lights, authentic hanging signs, real tuk tuks (in which guests can dine) and the wonderful Thai vibe it oozes. The menu is as authentic as you would find on Khaosan or Yaowarat Road in Bangkok, and features around 80 dishes. It showcases popular Thai starters, soups, salads and dim sum-style dishes, as well as mouth-watering grilled and roasted meats, and spicy curries alongside many more choices.
If you’re looking for delicious authentic Thai street food, or are perhaps trying to recreate memories of a trip to Bangkok, a visit to Zaap should be at the top of your list.
