Set on Abbeydale Road, the award-winning La Mama serves authentic tapas inspired by Chile. The most popular dish is the caldillo de pescado, a delicious Central American broth, which is mildly spiced and contains a variety of fresh fish mixed with slow-cooked vegetables. To complement this choice, there is an extensive wine menu offering a range of drinks from Chile. Other dishes include empanadas de carne, featuring crispy Chilean pastry filled with spiced beef and served with fresh salsa pebre. Owner Daniela is passionate about bringing unique flavours to Sheffield, and the head chef often adds an innovative twist to classic flavours. Everything is made from scratch, including fresh bread and flavoured oils.
Regulars return for the exceptionally high standard of food served, and the chef’s tapas of the week means that there’s always something new to try. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and friendly staff always make you feel at home. La Mama also has several exciting offers, with kids able to eat free from Tuesday to Friday from 6pm-7pm and 3pm-6pm on Saturdays. You can also enjoy three tapas dishes for £16 all evening on Tuesdays, from 6pm-8pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and from 3pm-6pm on Saturdays. With two-for one cocktails served on Saturday afternoon, why not enjoy a drink with friends and share a selection of mouth-watering tapas?
