Now boasting contemporary venues throughout Yorkshire, Potting Shed is a quirky bar and restaurant serving drinks, snacks and inventive dishes every day of the week. The rustic garden-themed interior, combined with youthful modern decor, is perfectly in line with the Potting Shed’s intentions – to bring urban style to the suburbs, providing a fantastic gathering place for people of all ages.
Drinks include ale, wine, classic cocktails and some unique house cocktails with an enticing Potting Shed twist. Whet your appetite with a Basil Margarita, a Honey & Mint Julep or an English County Garden cocktail – an English take on the Mojito, made with gin, elderflower and cucumber. Light bites, perfect for starters or lunchtime snacks, include the lightly battered piri piri chicken goujons served with sweet chilli dip, and pepperoni and mozzarella garlic dough balls with homemade lemon aioli. For a unique and hearty main, try the Yorkshire burger: a homemade beef patty topped with Yorkshire blue cheese and locally sourced bacon, encased in Yorkshire puddings and served with fries. One of the Shed’s most popular dishes is the chicken kebab, which is marinated with spices and served with roasted vegetables in a garlic flatbread alongside a mixed salad and tzatziki dip. The flatbread is baked in the wood-fired oven alongside delicious freshly made pizzas, which are well worth a try. If you’re making a night of it, snacks such as the Shed’s popcorn, marinated pitted olives and wasabi-coated peanuts are always available from the bar, even after the kitchen has closed.
Dine indoors or on the terrace upstairs, which has a retractable roof and bifolding doors – the perfect suntrap. The back garden area has garden sheds, which you may drink or dine in, and plenty of space to gather your friends and family. Alongside friendly staff and fantastic food, the Potting Shed offers something a bit different, including some great live music. Their famous music festival Shedstock makes for a great day out, celebrating local independent acoustic musicians. Whatever the occasion, you’re bound to enjoy your visit.
