Now part of the Sheffield BrewKitchen group, Artisan is a British bistro started by Richard and Victoria Smith in 1995. Richard's award-winning style of cooking and inviting menus have set a high standard that has helped shape Artisan's success. The restaurant's selection focuses on quality local ingredients, and this shines through in signature à la carte choices, as well as in the traditional Sunday lunch offering and the insanely good-value £6-£12-£6 menu - which refers to starter, main and pud prices. Wines are carefully chosen to complement your food, and many bottled beers are available, including those from Bakewell's Thornbridge Brewery. With such a pin-sharp vision of great cuisine, we'd certainly agree with Artisan being shortlisted for 'Best Restaurant' in the Welcome to Yorkshire White Rose Awards 2012.
