The Moody Cow's ethos is all about bringing locally sourced, mouth-watering meat to the dinner table. The chefs rely on methods that have stood the test of time to cook their steaks, in addition to providing succulent slow-roasted rotisserie options and a homemade coleslaw with a fantastic reputation of its own.
The menu reveals a harmony between quality and quantity, and features dishes such as the Yorkshire mini chorizo and salted scratching, which arrives accompanied by a trio of dips. Mains include low-and-slow-cooked beef brisket, which comes with The Moody Cow's house gravy; The Moody Cow pit burger, a quality beef patty, served slightly pink, topped with a mountain of pulled pork, melted Jack, pickles, lettuce and tomatoes, all sandwiched inside an artisan bun; and a half or full rack of baby back ribs, which are dry-rubbed for 24 hours before being smoked and slathered in barbecue sauce. Whatever you have, you're also welcome to help yourself from the extensive salad bar. Complementing the food is the drinks menu, a range encompassing premium lagers, classic cocktails and a descriptive wine list, to allow for a suitable matching of food to beverage to be made.
The excellent food is only heightened by the staff, who are attentive without being obtrusive, and prove another cog in a well-oiled, smoothly running establishment
