Those travelling across the pretty Cornish countryside to visit this unique bar and bistro might be surprised to discover that, from the outside at least, it looks like an unassuming wooden shack. Venture inside, however, and further surprises await - a spiral staircase (or a glass lift) leads down into a spacious, contemporary restaurant with an impressive glass frontage affording breathtaking views of the surrounding hills, sand dunes and coastline. The restaurant is designed to make the most of the spectacular vista, with the lounge, bistro and terrace areas all offering excellent vantage points from which to enjoy the picturesque locale.

Although worth visiting for its gorgeous outlook alone, Offshore doesn't rely on its second-to-none setting to attract diners back time and again - the exquisite cuisine and first-class service are what really keep people returning to this unique dining spot. Proprietor Angus McNair brings 25 years' catering experience to the Offshore kitchen and, alongside head chef Dave Brazewell and his team, creates everything from delicate fish dishes to hearty suppers with flair and expertise. Although Offshore is a memorable spot for a celebratory meal, you won't have to wait for a special occasion to visit, as prices are pleasingly reasonable, especially for dishes of such a high calibre. The slow-cooked beef brisket is a popular choice, although Offshore is also well-known for its superb sustainable local seafood too. Through Offshore Outside Catering, the culinary team can even bring their delicious dishes to a venue of your choice if you're hosting a party, although there can surely be no better venue than Offshore itself, with its stylish interior and, of course, those lovely views
