Le Bistrot Pierre has established itself as a go-to haunt for fantastic food and drink in Leamington Spa and Stratford-upon-Avon, so it’s no surprise that there’s an eagerly anticipated spring opening on the cards for Birmingham’s Gas Street. Known countrywide for their classic French cuisine served in an atmosphere that’s vibrant and energetic, these French restaurants provide the perfect backdrop for any occasion.
Order a few amuse-gueules while you browse the extensive and thoughtfully drafted menu. There are also child-friendly, gluten-free and prix fixe lunch menus available, where you can enjoy one course for £8.95, two courses for £10.95 and three for £12.95. The gousse d’ail rôtie (whole roasted garlic bulb with artisan bread, extravirgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar) is perfect for staving off your appetite while you ponder. Like all of Le Bistrot Pierre’s plates, entrées are seasonal and delicious, and include options such as risotto au haddock with leeks, garden peas and pea shoots, served with freshly baked French bread and Lescure butter.
Mains are equally wonderful, and give diners the opportunity to select from dishes such as Le Bistrot Pierre’s take on a classic Marseille fish stew comprising sea bream, mussels, king prawns, clams and smoked haddock, served with rouille, aged Gruyère and grilled sourdough. Dishes of the day are served with daily changing selections of seasonal vegetables. Steaks, burgers and a stellar assortment of accompaniments and sides complete the truly phenomenal menu. Don’t leave without trying one of the tempting sweet treats. The méli mélo de framboise et meringue – raspberry and cream ice cream with fresh raspberries, crushed meringue, soft marshmallows, pistachios and raspberry coulis – is an intensely indulgent way to round off a visit.
Visit for accessible classic French cuisine and a dining experience that’ll be memorable for all the right reasons.
