Renovated in June 2009, The Bull at Furnace End reopened under new ownership to flaunt a stylish, contemporary refurbishment, which has added a modern twist whilst being sympathetic to the building's charming period features. The aim was to bring a touch of relaxed glamour to Warwickshire, combining old English pub culture and modern British cuisine. The Bull serves top-quality food featuring fresh local ingredients, backed up by friendly and efficient service - and all at a reasonable price.
Head chef and owner Ian George has spared no expense in creating a menu for The Bull that includes traditional pub favourites alongside more contemporary flavours. Starters include modern combinations such as king prawns accompanied by rocket and aioli (£7), Parma ham with a melon and chilli salsa (£6.50) and slow-roast pork belly with Asian slaw and Guillaume sauce (£6.50). On the main menu you will find such delights as a 10oz peppered rib-eye steak served with watercress and hand-cut chips (£16.50), Thai green vegetable curry (£10) and the classic battered cod and chips (£9.50). Desserts are just as mouth-watering, with tasty treats such as Pimms jelly and cream, and orange marmalade bread and butter pudding (both £5). For those who love their Sunday roasts, The Bull provides a fantastic value-for-money traditional lunch with two or three courses.
This eatery takes as much pride in the drinks on offer as it does in its quality food - you'll find a varied selection of wines and Champagnes, and hand-pulled cask ales as well as tapped and bottled beers. The bar is open all day for those who like a pint after work, a coffee in the morning or a relaxed glass of wine in the evening. Housing a gorgeous outdoor decking area and beer garden, The Bull is available for all your summer parties. And, with its intimate indoor setting boasting coal fires and candlelit tables, it is also the perfect location for a winter event.
