From corporate bookers looking to host a business get-together to those looking for a leisurely catch-up with friends over good wine and first-class food, a diner’s first visit to Maison Mes Amis is rarely their last.
Neutral tones, contemporary design and elegant decor create an atmosphere similar to that of a Parisian atelier, affording this popular Chesterfield restaurant a light, airy and sophisticated bearing that draws in diners from near and far. By day, the restaurant adopts an informal, brasserie-style ambience offering coffees, pastries and a full lunchtime offering. In the evening, the atmosphere shifts, taking on an air of refi nement and formality.
Menus represent the restaurant’s take on modern European cuisine, prepared and served with true French finesse. To start, take moules marinières or Crémant de Loire baked Camembert, both served with fresh, locally baked bread. This could be followed by eight-hour slow-braised beef Bourguignon accompanied by pomme purée and seasonal vegetables or, pan-fried gnocchi dressed with basil pesto and Parmesan cheese and accompanied by spinach and cherry tomatoes. The restaurant serves a stellar Sunday lunch offering between noon and 6pm, costing just £11.95 for one course and £15 for two. A smaller-portioned version of this is available for little diners. Booking is always encouraged.
