Head chef Garry Parkinson has drawn up a classic, no-nonsense menu featuring lamb shank, scampi, and steaks, plus beef burgers and fishcakes that are made on the premises, whilst a daily changing specials board lists Moroccan chicken, chickpea casserole, sweet-andsour pork balls and hand-dived scallops. For the kids, there are fish fingers and chicken dippers. Whatever you choose, you can guarantee it'll be prepared on-site, with every effort made to incorporate local produce. The pudding menu also delivers classics such as syrup sponge with custard. Dogs are welcome and the large garden makes the ideal spot for a summery Dorset cream tea or a jug of Pimms to share
