The Piddle Inn

Cosy, yet with room to seat 50, The Piddle Inn not only offers daily specials, fresh fish and a seasonal menu sourced from local farmers, it now also brings Italian classics to Dorset. New owners Mario and Joanna bring 30 years' experience to The Piddle and use it to great effect, creating a blend of traditional pub dishes and authentic Italian cuisine. On the traditional side there's everything from the 'Piddle Ploughman's', served with a choice of Dorset Cheddar, Somerset Brie or home-cooked ham, to the superb local butchers' sirloin and T-bone. Notable Italian dishes include an irresistible calamari fritti salad and spaghetti Napoli - a scrumptious favourite - as well as a wide range of homemade pizzas. The specials board takes advantage of Dorset's abundant seafood - the lemon sole from Poole Bay is a real must. Room for pudding? Again there's plenty of choice, whether you fancy homemade pannacotta or another tasty Mediterranean masterpiece. Hot panini are also served from 2pm until 6pm all week
