Dating back to the 1600s, Lifton Hall – originally a row of cottages – is now a small thriving hotel, bar and restaurant. Located at the heart of Lifton village, just four miles from the Cornish border, it’s easily accessible from the A30. The decor harmoniously blends traditional and contemporary style, to create a cosy and relaxed atmosphere.
A recent addition to Lifton Hall’s offering is an indulgent afternoon tea. Representing great value for money, the tea comprises sandwiches, savoury dainties, cakes and miniature desserts. You can treat yourself every afternoon except Sunday, and booking is essential – you won’t be disappointed. The evening menu features beloved classics alongside more adventurous dishes. You can enjoy honey-glazed ham, egg and chips or luxury fish pie. If you want to branch out a bit, why not try Japanese katsu curry, a plate of vegan mixed-bean chilli, or an exciting daily special? Be sure to leave room for dessert – the double chocolate brownie is heavenly. Winner of Best Devon Sunday Roast at the 2016 Devon Life Food & Drink Awards, and runner-up in 2017, Lifton Hall’s outstanding Sunday roast is extremely popular, so booking is essential.
