The Northmore Arms

This idyllic country hideaway is everything a traditional pub is supposed to be. The menu offers home-cooked classics such as steak and kidney pudding, suet-crust pastry pies and beer-battered cod with chips, as well as vegetarian options including crêpes and spinach, mushroom, Brie and hazelnut en croûte. Desserts are also satisfyingly traditional – choose from the likes of treacle tart, crumble and apple pie. A selection of fine wines is available, as is a great range of local ale. Depending on the season, you can savour your drink in the suntrap garden or on a settle by the massive open fire. Offering a car park and easy access to Dartmoor, The Northmore Arms is a popular spot with walkers, and dogs are allowed on leads. Mobile phone use, however, is discouraged – visitors are invited to enjoy the pub’s cuisine and friendly atmosphere without interruption.
