Paul, Andrea and Shelby are the proud team behind this peaceful bistro. The trio are on a mission to spread their love of seasonal, local produce, and their efforts are clearly winning them a clientele of those in search of lunch, dinner, cake or a Sunday roast. Head chef Paul is always refining and tweaking the menus to keep up with the seasons. On the evening menu, you might see dishes such as venison and guinea fowl terrine to start, followed by mains of marinated quail with pork stuffing or spring veg clafoutis. To drink, diners are welcome to bring their own bottle or take their pick from the selection of local soft drinks as well as teas and coffees available.
While they take food seriously, the vibe is cosy and relaxed. Housed within a thatched roof building, with some parts dating back to the 16th century, the venue’s olde-worlde charm remains. How about hosting your private function or meeting here, either in the restaurant or separate room at the back? This friendly eatery in the midst of Dartmoor is the perfect place for nattering over coffee with a slice of homemade cake or catching up with friends during dinner. Refreshment isn’t just for humans either – you can bring your pooch.
