This 19th-Century inn is located next to the Churston steam railway station, which was frequented by author Agatha Christie - her famous riverside residence is just two miles away. Brixham is a five-minute drive from the inn, making it a popular choice for sightseers - there is plenty of parking. Folk flock here to enjoy modern British cuisine in the smart restaurant. The head chef uses local produce where possible, including fish from Brixham, sustainably farmed mussels from the River Exe, and meat and free-range eggs from West Country farms. The beer used in their renowned beef and ale pie is brewed in Devon or Cornwall, and the dessert menu lists locally made Yarde Farm ice cream. Organic Fairtrade coffee beans are imported and roasted in nearby Torquay. Gourmet pizzas will be on the menu from October 2013
